Bryan McLaren; MBA
Mr. McLaren is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Zoned Properties, a strategic real estate development firm whose primary mission is to provide real estate and sustainability services for the regulated cannabis industry. McLaren has a strong professional background in the social, economic, and environmental development of complex business organizations. For more than a decade he has successfully implemented programs and projects for corporate and community organizations.
McLaren holds a Bachelors of Business Administration and Ethics Studies from the University of San Diego, a Masters of Sustainable Development from Northern Arizona University, an Executive Masters in Business Leadership from Arizona State University, and an MBA from Marylhurst University. Throughout his graduate education, McLaren devoted time to community development and philanthropic efforts earning a number of honors and awards including Phi Kappa Phi Honors Society Membership and the Distinguished Walton Scholarship. Mr. McLaren has also been certified as a Licensed REALTOR, Green Roof Professional, LEED Green Associate, and is an active Forbes Contributor.
Prior to his role at Zoned Properties, McLaren worked as a Sustainability Consultant for Waste Management where he led the strategic development and operational implementation of zero-waste programs for Higher Education clients. McLaren has worked as a Sustainability Program Manager in the Higher Education industry and has been appointed as a City Sustainability Commissioner. Sustainable development has been a life-long passion for McLaren, who strives to create a global impact by forging a strong foundation for principles of sustainability in emerging industries.
John Kester; PhD
Dr. John Kester III is the Director of Sustainability Services at Zoned Properties, a strategic real estate development firm whose primary mission is to provide real estate and sustainability services for the regulated cannabis industry. Kester has extensive academic and professional experience advising companies and organizations on social, economic, and environmental challenges. He is a proficient researcher with publications in the public policy field and has also served in roles overseeing direct engagement of clients, primarily in the supply chain field assisting in tracking data and creating action plans for innovation in sustainability.
Kester holds a Bachelors of Arts in Biology and Economics from Denison University, a Masters of Sustainable Development from Northern Arizona University, and a PhD in Environmental Dynamics from the University of Arkansas. During his graduate education, Kester balanced time volunteering in community engagement positions and earning a number of honors and awards including a Distinguished Doctoral Fellowship fully funding his PhD education and research. Mr. Kester is also certified as a LEED Green Associated and is a licensed REALTOR.
Prior to his role at Zoned Properties, Kester worked as a Sustainability Advisor for MAPEI Americas where he managed sustainable certifications and advised on retail strategy for product lines marketing for sustainability. Kester has worked as a Research Associate at The Sustainability Consortium where he was responsible for leading research in the forestry, packaging, and textile sectors and managed the supplier help desk that assisted Walmart suppliers in responding to key performance indicators for sustainability. Conservation and sustainable development are areas where Kester sees significant potential for Zoned Properties to make a difference in the emerging regulated cannabis industry.
Emily Piesens is the Communications & Outreach Coordinator for Zoned Properties. Piesens has a background in sustainability through academics and applied projects where she was able to put her knowledge to work. Piesens holds an Associates of Science Degree from McHenry County College and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sustainability with a focus in Society from Arizona State University. During her bachelor’s degree she was able to partner with the Oakland Athletics through a capstone project as her team’s Zero Waste Captain. Throughout the spring training season, Piesens ran a waste analysis on three separate occasions and collected data that she and her team put into a comprehensive report. They were also able to have fan engagement through their sustainability initiative called the 8th Inning Recycle Rally. Furthermore, while completing her degree she took part in and volunteered at philanthropic events through her fraternity, Alpha Omicron Pi, and joined the Honors Society for Sustainability.
Prior to her role at Zoned Properties, Piesens worked as a Sustainability and Athletics Program Assistant for University Sustainability Practices at Arizona State University. There she assisted in integrating sustainability into athletic programs across all sporting events. For each team, one game is designated a Green Game where they highlighted sustainability on and off the field. Through this job she was also able to organize and help construct a social equity project pertaining to the students of Arizona State. Lastly, Piesens was able to help ASU’s Food Reconnection Goal by workshopping what resources students need in order to be food secure. Helping the world become a more equitable and sustainable place has always been a goal of Piesens and she will continue to put forth this drive into her career.

For 23 years Ms. Anthony has focused her law practice on small and mid-cap private and public companies, the OTC market, NASDAQ, NYSE MKT, going public transactions, mergers and acquisitions, private placement and corporate finance transactions, Regulation A/A+, Exchange Act and other regulatory reporting requirements, FINRA and DTC requirements, state and federal securities laws, crowdfunding, general corporate law and complex business transactions.
