Bryan McLaren is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Zoned Properties, a strategic real estate development firm whose primary mission is to provide real estate and sustainability services for the regulated cannabis industry. Mr. McLaren has a strong professional background in the social, economic, and environmental development of complex business organizations. Over his professional career, he has successfully implemented large-scale projects for corporate and community organizations.
McLaren holds a Bachelors of Business Administration and Ethics Studies from the University of San Diego, a Masters of Sustainable Development from Northern Arizona University, an Executive Masters in Business Leadership from Arizona State University, and an MBA with specialty in Sustainable Development. Throughout his graduate career, McLaren devoted time to community development and philanthropic efforts earning a number of honors and awards including Phi Kappa Phi Honors Society Membership and the Distinguished Walton Scholarship. Mr. McLaren has been certified as a Licensed REALTOR, Green Roof Professional, LEED Green Associate, and is an active Forbes Contributor as part of the Forbes Real Estate Council.
Prior to his role at Zoned Properties, McLaren worked as a Sustainability Consultant for Waste Management where he led the strategic development and operational implementation of zero-waste programs for Higher Education clients. McLaren has worked as a Sustainability Program Manager in the Higher Education industry and has been appointed as a City Sustainability Commissioner. Sustainable development has been a life-long passion for McLaren, who strives to create a global impact by forging a strong foundation for principles of sustainability in emerging industries.

Dr. John Kester III is the Director of Sustainability Services at Zoned Properties, a strategic real estate development firm whose primary mission is to provide real estate and sustainability services for the regulated cannabis industry. Kester has extensive academic and professional experience advising companies and organizations on social, economic, and environmental challenges. He is a proficient researcher with publications in the public policy field and has also served in roles overseeing direct engagement of clients, primarily in the supply chain field assisting in tracking data and creating action plans for innovation in sustainability.
Kester holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Economics from Denison University, a Masters of Sustainable Development from Northern Arizona University, and a PhD in Environmental Dynamics from the University of Arkansas. During his graduate education, Kester balanced time volunteering in community engagement positions and earning a number of honors and awards including a Distinguished Doctoral Fellowship fully funding his PhD education and research.
Prior to his role at Zoned Properties, Kester worked as a Sustainability Advisor for MAPEI Americas where he managed sustainable certifications and advised on retail strategy for product lines marketing for sustainability. Kester has worked as a Research Associate at The Sustainability Consortium where he was responsible for leading research in the forestry, packaging, and textile sectors and managed the supplier help desk that assisted Walmart suppliers in responding to key performance indicators for sustainability. Kester is also currently the ESG Team Lead at ADEC Innovations where he oversees a team providing data management, reporting facilitation, and strategy support. Conservation and sustainable development are areas where Kester sees significant potential for Zoned Properties to make a difference in the emerging regulated cannabis industry.

Berekk Blackwell is the Chief Operating Officer of Zoned Properties, a strategic real estate development firm whose primary mission is to provide real estate and sustainability services for the regulated cannabis industry. Mr. Blackwell brings with him an abundance of experience in the expansion of retail brands both domestically and internationally.
Previously, Berekk spent time in developing domestic and international markets for Kahala Brands, a conglomerate of over fifteen QSR franchises including Cold Stone Creamery and Blimpie Subs. Kahala Brands at the time has over 3,000 retail locations in over a dozen countries. This eventually led to working for Revamp Corporation in Tokyo, Japan. At the time, Revamp owned the Master Franchise rights for Cold Stone Creamery, Auntie Anne’s Pretzels and Krispy Kreme Doughnuts.
While there, Berekk looked after international relationships between US companies looking to enter the Japanese market and facilitated development for all three concepts. He was able to build a strong support system in most major markets in the area which lead to many transpacific opportunities. Since coming back to the United States, Blackwell was involved in the acquisition and development of Daily Jam, a limited service breakfast and brunch chain with major growth potential. As President of Daily Jam, he received recognition from the industry by being named to QSR Magazine’s Top 40 Concepts in the Country Under 40 units.
Blackwell holds a Bachelors of Business Administration in Finance from Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO. While there, Blackwell also played collegiate soccer, winning two national championships and receiving First Team All American honors.

Patrick Moroney is the Director of Real Estate for Zoned Properties, a strategic real estate development firm whose primary mission is to provide real estate and sustainability services for the regulated cannabis industry. Mr. Moroney also leads client project accounts for Zoned Properties Brokerage, LLC, that operates as the transactional brokerage division of Zoned Properties, Inc. Patrick has extensive brokerage experience in the regulated cannabis space having successfully delivered complex projects for clients across multiple states.
Prior to joining Zoned Properties, Mr. Moroney was one of the most successful Associate Brokers at Kidder-Mathews, focusing primarily on the regulated cannabis industry. In additional to coming from a family with deep commercial real estate history, Moroney established his own foundational real estate experience working as a commercial real estate broker rep at both Cushman & Wakefield and Colliers International.
Patrick’s expertise includes site identification, contract negotiation, and cannabis-specific site development. He has the nuanced understanding required to effectively navigate the industry-specific challenges in regulated cannabis associated with zoning, permitting, licensing, and financing. Mr. Moroney has completed successful cultivation and retail dispensary transactions with local and national clients, ranging from local mom-and-pop cannabis operators to national multi-state operators (MSO’s), both private and public organizations.
Mr. Moroney graduated from Arizona State University after which he spent four years as a local sports broadcaster in Georgia and Iowa. At Zoned Properties, Mr. Moroney will continue working with valued Arizona clients, expand his expertise into new state marketplaces, and collaborate with the multi-disciplinary Zoned Properties team to service national real estate clients.

Joseph Lewis is the Designated Broker for Zoned Properties Brokerage, LLC that operates as the transactional brokerage division of Zoned Properties, Inc. Mr. Lewis has a multi-decade background in complex real estate development and community engagement. Prior to joining Zoned Properties, Joseph was the founder and principal of The Real Estate Brokers in Tempe, Arizona. Throughout his career, Lewis has owned and managed a portfolio of commercial, industrial and residential properties, including historical retail properties, industrial site developments, vacation home rentals, and many unique project developments such as Mother Bunch Brewery, Cheba Hut, LUV Bridal, Table Tops ETC, Keith & Melissa Pitts photographers, and the Bisbee Ventures Opportunity Zone Fund.
Lewis has a longstanding commitment to community engagement and civil service. During the course of a two-term cycle, over eight years, Mr. Lewis was an elected city councilmember in the City of Tempe where he spent years contributing to the development of the City of Tempe as Vice Mayor, Chair of the Economic Development Committee, and Chair of the Neighborhood Enhancement Committee. Following his back-to-back service as a councilmember, Lewis founded My Local News: Real News Real Local, an online news platform focused on local community organizations and events. Mr. Lewis continues to expand the electronic news platform as its publisher and developer.
Prior to his experience in the real estate and civil service sectors, Mr. Lewis gained valuable experience as a start-up entrepreneur when he built Full Spectrum Audio Visual from the ground up in 1985 and sold the organization after twenty years of operations. Throughout his experience in business and community service, Mr. Lewis has remained a valuable asset to the communities and organizations to which he has devoted his personal and professional time.

Ms. Buechler is a Senior Advisor for Zoned Properties, a strategic real estate development firm whose primary mission is to provide real estate and sustainability services for the regulated cannabis industry. Buechler has an extensive professional background in commercial real estate, with the majority of her experience in the retail real estate sector.
While working for national REITs, Kimco, Edens and Madison Marquette, she was an integral part of leasing, development, re-development, acquisitions and dispositions of lifestyle centers, malls, power centers and grocery-anchored assets throughout the United States. Buechler has completed and reviewed hundreds of leases and other real estate-related transactions. She has also participated in several meetings with government officials regarding land use, zoning and planning. Immediately prior to joining Zoned Properties, Buechler worked as a 3rd party representative and consultant for property owners and developers. She currently holds real estate broker licenses in Arizona, Virginia, South Carolina and Georgia.
Having studied Accounting at Indiana University and earning a Bachelor of Science degree, Buechler worked for one of the top national public accounting firms upon graduation. She developed a strong financial background from her formal education and experience with national audit and tax clients. Buechler has also completed the Dale Carnegie Leadership Training and Harvard Negotiation Certificates.
In addition to her commercial real estate and accounting experience, Buechler was accepted into the first Ganjier Certification Program, which will be completed later this year. The Ganjier Program is a rigorous, multi-tiered cannabis certification created and taught by the most respected names in the field. The program covers cultivation, extraction, science, consumption, dispensary operation and other components of the cannabis plant from seed to sale.

Kyle Gere is the Strategic Project Manager at Zoned Properties, a strategic real estate development firm whose primary mission is to provide real estate and sustainability services for the regulated cannabis industry. As the Strategic Project Manager, Mr. Gere oversees client objectives, nationwide compliance data, and assists with the development of key property technology software for Zoned. Mr. Gere has years of licensing experience across multiple different States in both medical and recreational cannabis markets. Mr. Gere is also a licensed Realtor® in the State of Arizona.
Mr. Gere attended college at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in both Management and Marketing. Since 2015, Kyle has been involved in cannabis real estate transactions in Arizona and Michigan, managing a portfolio of properties within the Medical Marijuana industry. His vast experience ranges from collaborating with architects, attorneys, sellers and buyers, multi-state operators, realtors, lobbyists, along with governing bureaus at the local and State level.
Mr. Gere has helped locate, negotiate, and close on many commercial properties that were successfully licensed by both the Cities and State for medical marijuana dispensaries, cultivation facilities, and laboratory facilities. Mr. Gere also facilitated the local application process for these successful licenses, winning in competitively-scored application processes. Mr. Gere has performed over a dozen dispensary inspections by State auditors, and is intimately familiar with the requirements for licensure and what it takes to be awarded a successful marijuana license.
