Arizona opened up for recreational retail cannabis in February 2021. Sales of recreational cannabis have seen enormous growth since going recreational, with recent retail sales of $1.4 Billion in 2022. Currently there are 169 licenses, which are fully vertical and allow for a separate retail facility, a cultivation facility and a process facility. Wholesale business between licenses is allowed. 130 of these licenses are dual license, previously medical and converted to allow for recreational. 13 are “rural” licenses that require that the retail location stay within the rural county that they were issued in. 26 are “social equity” licenses that were just recently issued in April of 2022. The social equity and the rural licenses are both Adult Use only licenses.

We are currently actively assisting operators with their site selection needs for all license types as well as disposition of assets through our licensed brokerage.

Site Identification

Identifying quality real estate for cannabis can be hard. Really hard! Sifting through municipal zoning code, endless tabs of local GIS software, measuring distances from sensitive uses, all to have a landlord’s financing deny the use. The list goes on. At Zoned Properties, we couple our years of experience and proven processes with a proprietary tech stack that saves our clients time and money.
