Missouri opened up for recreational retail cannabis in February 2023. Sales of recreational cannabis have seen enormous growth in the first few months of the program. Currently there are 194 retail licenses, 77 manufacturing licenses, and 50 cultivation licenses.
As part of the recreational program roll out, Missouri will be issuing new micro business licenses. Within 300 days of the effective date of the bill, a lottery process will determine 16 microbusiness dispensaries and 32 microbusiness wholesale licenses to low-income residents, high-poverty communities, disabled war veterans and those convicted of nonviolent marijuana offenses.
